When and where is Challenge 22?
You choose when and where to complete your challenge during the month of April.
When must I start and finish Challenge 22?
Any time during the month of April.
What distance do I need to cover?
That’s up to you. Choose your challenge, set your target and away you go.
What if my challenge doesn’t involve distance?
No problem. Check out the Mindful Miles converter in the "Resources" section or add every 15 minutes of challenge participation as 1 mile.
Can I take part in Challenge 20 as part of a team?
Follow this link for signing up to Challenge 22. When completing the sign up you will be given the option to ‘Create or Join a Team’. Simply click ‘Create a Team’ and you will be taken through the steps to do this. Once complete you can share your team name with your colleagues who will be able to join once they sign up for Challenge 22. Alternatively if you have already signed up to Challenge 22 and have a fundraising page you can click on the left hand icon that brings up the ‘Edit Page’ option. In here select the ‘Team’ tab and you will be able to create a team.
Is there any restriction on size of team?
None whatsoever. You can include as many teammates as you want in your challenge.
I don't have a team, can I take part?
Of course! Anyone can take part in Challenge 22, on their own or as part of a team.
Can I see how I/my team is doing compared to others across Nationwide?
Yes. We have a distance totaliser and leader board on the Challenge 22 homepage.
Is there an overall distance target for Challenge 22?
Yes. We would like to cover 22,000 miles as a Society.
Fundraising
Is there an overall target for the campaign?
Yes. We would like to raise at least £40,000 as a Society

How do I create a team fundraising page?
You have two options when it comes to setting up a team page.
Firstly, register here and create your individual fundraising page. Once you've registered, you should see a button at the end of registration that allows you to create a team page there and then.
Alternatively, you can create a team page later on by logging into your JustGiving account, going to your fundraising page and clicking the 'edit page' button on the page. Here, you'll be presented with the option to create a team page accordingly.
How much money do I need to fundraise?
As much as you’re able to.
How do I change my fundraising goal?
Log in to your Just Giving page. you will see your fundraising goal near the top of the page. Simply click 'Edit Fundraising Page' and you will be able to update the amount on the next screen.
Where does the money I raise go?
Shelter helps millions of people every year struggling with bad housing or homelessness. Every pound raised will go towards supporting Shelter's front-line services.
Can my money go to a specific project?
No: the money you raise will go to the areas of our work that need it the most. This allows us to be more efficient with your donations – so we can reach the people who urgently need us.
Do I need to log my fundraising?
Yes please, as ever log your fundraising on the Social Investment Hub.
Can I apply for matched funding?
No. As this is a centrally organised campaign we’re not able to offer matched funding.
What is Gift Aid?
Gift Aid is a way that charities are able to claim back tax for donations made to them by UK taxpayers.
Does Gift Aid count towards my fundraising target?
No: unfortunately, Gift Aid doesn’t count. However, please encourage your donors to include GiftAid in their donations – because it’s a fantastic way to help raise extra funds, and allow Shelter to be there for more people who are struggling with their housing.
How do I pay in the cash I raise offline?
We recommend using our bespoke JustGiving platform to raise funds. If you get a cash donation, you’ll have to pay in the amount you’ve received to your online fundraising page. Alternatively, you can make a bank transfer by emailing: nationwide@shelter.org.uk. We’ll provide you with all the info you need from there.

I have more than one Just Giving account. How do I sign into a different account?
Either try using an incognito browser (which won't cache and remember your last log in) or clear your browser history if you want to log into a different account
Do I need to set up an individual page in order to join a team?
Yes
Can I link my page to more than one team?
No
Can we just set up one individual page for a team of us?
You will not be able to log individual miles on a shared page using Strava. If you’re not planning on using Strava you can manually log all miles to a shared page.
Can I delete an existing page?
Email help@justgiving.com with your URL to get your page deleted.

How do I ensure Strava only records miles completed in April?
Once your Just Giving page is synchronised with your Strava account it will start displaying any exercise logged on Strava. Please ensure that you delete anything completed before the start of April from your page to prevent it from being included in your total.
Distance Logging
How do I log the distance that I cover?
You can do this in two ways:
- Link your fundraising page easily to Strava and record any distance you cover.
- Manually add your miles onto your fundraising page totaliser.

How do I manually log my miles on my page?
Log into your account and view your Challenge 20 fundraising page. You'll see a feed on the page with a button that says 'log fitness'. Click this button, add your fitness activity and save it! Your fitness activity will then contribute to your fundraising page fitness total.
Can I use other fitness apps?
No. Unfortunately you can only link Strava to your fundraising page.
How do I update my distance target?
Click on 'edit page' on your fundraising page and you will find the option to update your distance target there.
